Chapter 04: Envy and Adolescent Affections

The squad was all ready to explore Udaipur, but the newlyweds had to stick around for some pending rituals. The guys were getting antsy waiting for the girls, who kept saying "5 minutes, 5 minutes," but it's been over an hour and a half now.

"I doubt we're getting out today," Rudransh grumbled, eyeing the entrance of Malhotra Mansion.

"Seriously, how long can these ladies take, and now they've even got a sidekick," Ekansh quipped, pointing out Diya.

"Rudra, Ansh, Ekansh, you guys start moving, we'll catch up with the others-"

"Bhai, look behind you," Dev interrupted Daksh, who turned to see the three young ladies approaching them:

First, Roop in a white tee, sky blue ripped jeans, a light pink cap backward, and a silver chain in her mouth.

Next, Yashna in a black tube tank top, an overcoat, blue boot-cut jeans, silver hoop earrings, rings, and black nail polish.

Lastly, Diya joined them in a white crop top, jeans, a cherry blossom-designed overcoat, and seafoam green nails.

Ekansh Pov>>>

Dev was like, "Bhai, turn around, look!" And there she was with my sisters.

When I first saw her at Bijlani Mansion chasing after Zoro (Ekansh, Rudransh, and Roop's pet; Bichon Frisรฉ), the way she crashed into me and then looked up at me with those dark brown eyes, it was like she could see right through my hazel ones. I've never felt like this for any girl before, especially not for Diya.

But then, reality hit me - she's 15!

"Oh God! Roop Di and Yashu, what have you done to my little sister," Dev exclaimed, trying to muffle his shock, "she's 15."

"I'm 15 plus, almost 16, bhai," Diya remarked. She's only nine years younger than me, well, almost... What am I even thinking!

Diya's just 16, 16, 16... her top is way too short, showing way too much skin!

After Rudransh nudged my biceps, I glanced around to see everyone staring at me.

"Ekansh bhai! Where were you lost, man? We called you so many times," he teased, a smirk playing on his lips, which I was the only one to catch.

I cleared my throat and responded, "I'm good. Let's get going." As I finished, I found myself seated next to Rudransh. I knew he'd tease me endlessly, and I shot him a look that could kill, especially when he started raising his eyebrows at Diya and then back at me.

I swear, if he says anything, I'll unleash a storm on him with my revolver tucked in my waistband.

I think he got the message because he shut his mouth, but that smirk remained plastered on his face as he glanced at me. I wanted to wipe that smirk off and give him a good smack.

Yashna and Dev were the final ones to step into our sleek white and black Chrysler Limo. If my hunch is right, they might just end up together in the future. *Fingers crossed.*

They do look good together, and I overheard our family and theirs discussing if they're already an item...

With that, we departed from the Mansion, flanked by fully black BMW cars in the front and back, our Limo cruising in the middle, and the bodyguards in their respective vehicles, armed and ready.

End pov>>>

"Ekansh bhai! These girls are something else, right?" Rudraksh chuckled, only to receive a playful slap from Roop.

"Are you crazy, Rudra bhai? This is perfect! C'mon, girls," she exclaimed with joy, stepping out of the limo.

"Normally, women are all about Dior, Shein, Gucci, and these two are into jhumkas, bangles, and pani puri," Ekansh remarked, joining the boys as they followed the girls to the stalls.

"Masala Chai!" Yashna called out as the girls sipped the tea from clay cups.

Diya gestured for the boys to join them. Roop served them tea, insisting they try it, much to the surprise of Rishi, Daksh, and Dev.

"It's a unique experience; try it, and you'll love it," Roop encouraged, savoring the spicy flavor.

"Wow, my mom's chai doesn't come close to this," she remarked sympathetically.

Reluctantly, the boys tasted the tea, only to be won over.

"My mom's chai is nothing compared to this; it's fantastic," Rishi declared, enjoying the rich flavors of cardamom and cinnamon.

After sampling various snacks, they finally reached the jewelry stall. Roop struggled to choose between two pairs of jhumkas and, without realizing who was behind her, she asked, "Yashu, which is better, black or yellow?"

"Black," a deep voice responded, causing Roop to freeze as she looked at him in surprise.

"Dak...sh," she stuttered, taken aback by his sudden appearance.

Quickly, they moved away upon hearing Ekansh's loud scream, with Roop rushing towards him, unaware that Daksh had asked the vendor to pack the earrings along with matching bangles.

Both of them witnessed a scene where a boy was being confronted by Diya and Yashna, leaving the boys stunned.

Roop joined them, not knowing what had happened, leaving Daksh shocked by the way she reacted to the situation, especially when she hit the guy after her bestie whispered something to her.

"Damn! How dare you touch her! Pervert, jerk, *bleep*-" Rishi intervened, covering Roop's mouth and pulling her back, despite her protests and attempts to resist.

Ekansh pulled Diya by her side, using her side bag as a weapon, while Dev did the same with Yashna.

"You girls are like a bunch of tough cookies," Rudransh chuckled, earning glares from the others.

"But what went down?" Daksh asked, curious about the situation.

"Yashu di and I were checking out the pet stalls when this guy started making inappropriate comments. We tried to ignore him, but then he tried to touch me, and that's when Ekansh bhai stepped in, and well, you saw the rest," Diya recounted the incident.

Only a few noticed the intensity in Ekansh's eyes and the restrained emotion in his clenched jaw when the guy was mentioned.

"DON'T LEAVE HIM. HOW DARE HE TOUCH THE SISTER OF DAKSH RAJVANSH," he roared, glaring at the guy and instructing his bodyguards to capture him. Daksh then pulled his younger sister into a protective hug.

At Malhotra Mansion>>>

The elders and the newlyweds were enjoying their evening snack and tea. Jay, with his mouth full, tried to speak, causing a humorous moment.

"How peaceful it is without the troublemakers," Jay mumbled with snacks in his mouth.

"First eat, then speak," Surbhi gently scolded her son for his habit of talking with his mouth full.

"So. We. Are. Trouble. Makers," five voices echoed, emphasizing each word, making Jay's eyes widen in realization.

"Hey Ansh, Rudra, Ekuuh, Roop, oh Yashu," Jay smiled awkwardly, anticipating the playful banter that was about to follow.
