The loud thumping of the drums woke me up. Oh! I drank till I was unable to open my eyes fully. I shoved Vedant and Aryan, who were sandwiching me. While yawning, I strolled to the balcony and observed Di and Ma dancing.

I stench of alcohol. Screw it! I need to take a shower right away.

After using the restroom, I changed clothes in the walk-in closet. Once I retrieved the wristwatch off the nightstand, I became aware of Aryan's bawl.

"What's going on?" After he hung up the phone, I asked.

"Bhai.. the police have rounded our warehouse."

I frowned my brows," So what's there to be tensed? All the weapons are shifted right?"

Reyansh was threatening to kill the police if they ever got their hands on me. I asked, "What are the allegations?" as I turned to face them. "We found drugs in Agnihotri warehouse."

"It is but they found drugs in the warehouse"

Drugs?

Vedant went on, "And a new ACP is appointed to arrest you."

We've been talking so much that we haven't even noticed the drumbeat fade away and be replaced by sirens for quite a while. Outside, a massive commotion was heard from the garden. I started to run and they both came after me.

Reyansh was threatening the police that if he dared to lay his hands on me that would be his end.

I turned to them and said, "What are the allegations?"

"We found drugs in Agnihotri warehouse."

Gasps were heard from everyone surrounding us. Dadi stepped in front of the police and raised her stick, pointed at him and said," Do you know who you are speaking to?

"Dadi," I said to her and she moved back and I spoke,", Where's the evidence?"

"Evidence? You'll do a crime and you need evidence now?"

We turned to look at the voice only to find a girl. She was smirking at us and walked out from the police jeep. It was then that I knew she was an officer and her star badge indicated she's a ACP

She took a handcuff from the policeman who'd spoken to us and said," You are under arrest, Mr. Agastya Agnihotri. Here's the arrest warrant"

Chachu grabbed the paper from her and read it out. He closed his eyes in anger that's when we knew they weren't kidding.

"How could this be" Di asked as she inspected the warrant.

Lawyer mode activated

The girl wasted no time and took the paper from di and said,"We can't waste time in one criminal's house. So..." Thus, she smacks my hand with the handcuff.

I was about to stop when Aryan screamed at the girl. "How dare you touch my brother, you freaking woman"

"With my hand" she grinned and Aryan muttered bitch. Something unexpected happened making all of us shocked. How dare she do it!

The chick shows up out of the blue and arrests bhai. Girls are falling for us left and right, but she's here at our mansion, messing with my bhai.

"With my hand," she grins at me, pushing my anger to the limit.

"Bitch!"

She stares me down and hits me with a question. Seriously, now?

"Have you been slapped?"

I shake my head, wondering why I'm even answering her-

*Slap*

"Because I've done the honors," she says, grabbing Bhai. I grit my teeth and warn her.

"You'll regret this!"

"Oh, no, I'm shaking in fear at your 'regret'!" She fires back, but thanks to Vedant holding me back, or else I'd give her a piece of my mind.

Reyansh bhai, all decked out in his haldi outfit, talks about bail procedures with Kavya di, a Criminal attorney herself.

Di assures she'll sort out the bail soon. Vedant and I head for a shower. I won't let this cop woman off the hook that easily.

The Living Room>>>

Things are really heating up with, Navya Desai who's the women who arrested bhai. She's not picking up calls and not letting Reyansh bhai and Di inside the police station. The tension is real.

"Don't spare that girl, Neya-"

"Navya, dadi. Ow!" Kavya Di corrected dadi but got a shot from the stick.

"You think it's a joke?" Dadi gave di a stern look.

Revati Agnihotri, my ma, went towards dadi and whispered something. After dadi nodded, Ma announced," We can't delay the auspicious time. I think we have to start the haldi ceremony"

Without bhai?

"No way. Agastya ke bina hum kaise kar sakte hain?" (No way. How can we do without Agastya?)

"Devika Ji sach bol raha hai. Ansh aur Kavya beta, Agastya is surely going to make it in time for the wedding. Trust the God and come." Said Reyansh bhai and Vedant's dadi. (Devika Ji is speaking the truth. Ansh and Kavya)

After some resistance, Kavya Di and Reyansh bhai agreed. So, we're heading out to start the ritual now.

Our man, who's a police informant, filled me in on what's happening at the station. Lost in thought, I found myself near the pool, almost slipping when someone grabbed my shirt from behind.

Turning around, I locked eyes with those blue-grey eyes full of mystery. I was so captivated that I couldn't even hear what she was saying... or maybe scolding me.

The only thing I heard was,"Oy! Why is everyone out to ruin the decor by the poolside."

Delivering this in a British accent, she crouched down, causing me to widen my eyes and gaze down slowly, only to catch her removing the twinkling lights under my foot.

Fuck! What was I thinking...

"Tum abhi bhi kyon khade ho? Move away?" She exclaimed (Why are you still standing?)

She speak Hindi too?

Of course, do you expect her to speak Chinese in a place like India? My mind mocked me.

Throughout my life, I've only ever heeded my brother and mother. Yet, when she instructed me to depart, my feet instinctively moved away, glancing back at her every few minutes.

Kya chal raha hai mujhe?? (What is happening to me??)
